Ford is investing $5.6 billion to build its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities at BlueOval City in West Tennessee. The Tennessee Electric Vehicle Center will produce the next-generation electric truck with production beginning in 2025. In this position...

You will support all electrical aspects of the facility from power, projects for construction & maintenance. Position will provide electrical details to electrical contractors for execution of the facility projects.

What you'll do...
  • Must know Auto Cad software with responsibility to maintain plant's electrical distribution system drawings, plants electrical one line drawings.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills; verbal and written and must be able to perform the duties without much supervision.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook is crucial.
  • Responsible to write and manage annual Capital Improvement Budget (CIB) Projects (MEARS application)
  • Support electrical aspect of all facility projects for construction & maintenance and provide electrical details to electrical contractors for execution of the facility projects.
  • Provide electrical/controls support for all TEVC facilities.
  • Work with site utility provider as required/ needed.
  • Manage the Electrical Safety Program (Arc Flash and Shock Hazard) for the facility, including conducting Arc Flash/Shock Hazard study of the facility electrical distribution system. Provide appropriate arc flash labeling for electrical components. This position is also "Authorized Electrical Engineer" for the plant and implements the program.
  • Familiar with Allen Bradley and/or Siemen's power logic software and fundamental knowledge of vision controls systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., IEEE, NEC, NFPA 70E)
  • Must be able to adhere to FAS08-160 standards and requirements.
  • Substation PMs and testing
  • Fault current setting for substation breakers
  • Buss and buss plug shutdowns and maintenance.
  • Understand electrical equipment installation and design.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical equipment installation
  • Run maintenance of electrical distribution system, including substation breakers, transformers, and 480V buss system/PMs
  • Work with low, medium, and high voltage systems in the facility.
  • Maintain emergency power systems including generators, lighting and auto transfer switches.
  • Maintain fire protection systems, fire alarms, emergency evacuation systems, fire protection systems, wet and dry systems, CO2 systems, etc.
  • Manage 6-monthly inspections of fire safety systems. Arrange repair and maintenance of these systems.
  • Maintain security alarm system including employee entrance turn styles, cameras and central security and video recording system.
  • Manage energy conservation program for the facility; conduct energy conservation team meetings, report on plant's energy conservation efforts and take steps to achieve annual energy savings targets.
  • Write annual purchase orders for facility service contracts and maintenance of fire protection system, plant security system.
  • Work with plant compressor and pumping equipment.
  • Familiarity with Ford's network systems, CPN/MPN, Control PLC virus protection, FIS
  • Review/approve PMs for facility electrical systems, setup new parts (1295)
  • Review department safety measurables & coordinate improvement activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement and SQDCPME processes.


You'll have...
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in electrical distribution, electrical engineering. Facilities Engineering a plus.
