What does this role look like?

Support all phases of the program lifecycle (development, production, and post production)
Systems Integration, test and other verification activities
Seek and maintain knowledge of current and developing technologies, design, and analysis methodologies
Build successful teams with internal stakeholders, (Business Development and central Engineering), as well as with external stakeholders (suppliers, mission partners and USG laboratories.)
ship required, Top Secret clearance required prior to start.
Be accountable to the Program Manager for the engineering efforts including program execution and estimation of engineering scope in proposals
The successful candidate must also have ability to organize, motivate and lead groups of engineering personnel, and demonstrate in-depth technical skills

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.

Proven experience in systems engineering, including requirements development, decomposition, and verification.

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional integration efforts across hardware, software, and mission systems.

Experience developing and managing technical baselines, system architectures, and interface control documents (ICDs).

Proficiency with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and practices (e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw, or equivalent).

Strong understanding of system lifecycle processes, from concept development through test and delivery.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders.

Active DoD Top Secret clearance or higher, or the ability to obtain one.

Desired skills

Proven experience leading or supporting complex DoD or Intelligence Community (IC) space system development efforts, from concept through delivery.

Strong ability to apply systems thinking and critical analysis to translate complex technical challenges into actionable, results-driven solutions.

Hands-on experience with the design, development, integration, and delivery of space subsystems and hardware components.

Deep understanding of mission architecture and end-to-end system performance, ensuring alignment between subsystem design and mission objectives.

Demonstrated application of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles, tools, and practices to improve design efficiency and mission assurance.

Prior Special Access Program (SAP) authorization and familiarity with secure program environments.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300 - $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $102,800 - $178,135. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
