Description
We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Test Engineer to join the Test & Quality Department. You will be working with a small team of dedicated engineers in a fast-paced but friendly and inclusive manufacturing environment. The team has a great mix of people, ranging from Test, Quality and Manufacturing experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide training and ensure SOP manufacturing processes are used, support new product introduction during the NPI phase and volume manufacturing ramp up Yield Reporting, Analysis of test data and implementing improvements to the test/ manufacturing process.
Management of test/ manufacturing process at the Contract Electronic Manufacturing site.
Ongoing cost, quality and delivery performance management of external suppliers.
Process output reporting using Statistical Process Control tools (Cp, Cpk etc).
Participate in production/quality meetings with the CEM engineering team.
Assists manufacturing test technicians in trouble shooting, and/or repair failed test equipment and/or electronic assemblies/PCBA's.
Drive Six Sigma and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) tools to drive process improvement and product quality. Communicate issues to relevant development/production teams.
Key Skills:
Ability to read wiring diagrams and PCBA schematics, understanding of Bill Of Materials.
Test Equipment & Fixture Design: Maintain test setups, fixtures, and automation solutions to enhance testing accuracy and repeatability.
Data Analysis & Troubleshooting: Monitor test results, analyze key performance indicators,
Collaboration & Process Improvement: Work closely with design engineers, production teams, and quality assurance to refine manufacturing and testing methodologies. Drive continuous improvement (Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma) initiatives to streamline operations.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all testing procedures meet industry regulations, ISO standards and integrity policies.
Project Management: Lead or support projects related to process enhancements, new product introductions (NPI), and test equipment upgrades.
Documentation & Standardization: Develop and maintain detailed work instructions, process flow diagrams, and test procedures.
Coordinates with manufacturing floor and Failure Review Board team in reviewing test failure data and develops methods to continually reduce and eliminate test escapes
Qualifications and Experience
Education: BS/BA, B Engineering Degree (or the equivalent in related work experience) required.
Experience of volume production test methodology (ICT, Flying Probe, AOI etc.).
Minimum 3 years of industry experience, direct working experience within volume Manufacturing facility preferably within the electronics sector.
Other Relevant
Frequent travel to third party sites, full clean driving license and own car required
Flexible Working available with a minimum of 3 days on-site requirement
