Security Engineer - Air Force CLOUDworks

Location: Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX (Hybrid Schedule) Security Clearance: TS/SCI Required on Day 1

Leidos is seeking a motivated Security Engineer to support the Department of the Air Force CLOUDworks. In this role, you'll apply your cybersecurity experience to help safeguard cloud environments for the Air and Space Force Intelligence Community (IC). Operating in a hybrid work setting, this position allows for flexibility while keeping security at the forefront of mission operations.

Your Role & Responsibilities:
  • Support security efforts for Air and Space Force IC customers migrating to Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) & Commercial Cloud Enterprise (C2E).
  • Assist with system security designs, ensuring compliance within the Risk Management Framework.
  • Help implement secure cloud strategies across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
  • Coordinate with Air and Space Force personnel, delegated authorizing officials, and other security representatives.
  • Prepare assessment and authorization (A&A) documentation, ensuring adherence to security policies.
  • Monitor and mitigate system security threats and risks throughout the lifecycle of cloud platforms.
  • Maintain security compliance, covering areas such as continuity, operations security, insider threat mitigation, and physical security analysis.
  • Provide guidance on security designs, supporting hardware, software, and procedural elements.
  • Assist in the development of technical solutions that align with organizational security requirements.

What You Bring:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required on Day 1.
  • 5+ years of cybersecurity experience, with a focus on cloud security.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline (additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT-II or above certification.
  • Familiarity with enterprise cloud architecture, encryption, compliance, vulnerability assessment, and security control validation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills-comfortable briefing leadership, coordinating meetings, and engaging with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid schedule, balancing in-office collaboration with remote work flexibility.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GSLC, IAM-III, or IASAE I-III.
  • Cloud provider certifications (AWS, Microsoft, Google, IBM, Oracle).
  • Experience working with AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, IBM, Oracle, IC ITE GovCloud, and C2S.
