Our challenge

The Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing Long-Term Care solutions plan. This role requires in-depth knowledge of Long-Term Care solutions, data analysis, and project management to ensure the effective administration of retirement programs, compliance with federal regulations, and enhancement of participant experience.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.

In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Piscataway, New Jersey is $110k-$1250/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Collect, analyze, and document comprehensive business and functional requirements, including wireframes, workflows, business rules, and use cases.
  • Create and maintain UML diagrams to visually represent systems, workflows, and processes.
  • Develop and maintain a data dictionary by mapping front-end screen elements to backend database tables and columns.
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand the existing application infrastructure and system architecture, and document the associated non-functional requirements.
  • Support QA activities by contributing to the creation and refinement of test plans and detailed test cases.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders and business units to identify, track, and resolve issues throughout the project lifecycle and in ongoing operations.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with IT and business teams to drive project success.
  • Monitor data quality issues, conduct impact assessments, and identify critical business processes affected.
  • Work within Agile environments (preferably Scrum), partnering closely with development and QA teams to deliver accurate and effective solutions.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within the Insurance domain.
  • Strong preference for candidates with hands-on experience in Long Term Care Insurance.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business needs and translate them into clear, actionable technical specifications.
  • Proficient in SQL, with proven experience writing and optimizing complex queries.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; effective in working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-driven and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Hands-on experience working in Agile Scrum environments.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; capable of managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, MS Project, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience in the financial services industry, with a strong emphasis on the Insurance domain.
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders effectively, with a high level of professionalism and a solution-focused mindset.
  • Comfortable operating in data-centric environments, with the ability to analyze, interpret, and act on complex data sets.
