Position Overview:
We are looking for a hands-on Data Scientist with strong AI/ML development experience to join our team onsite in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. This role focuses on developing intelligent solutions using payer data in the healthcare domain. You will play a key role in designing and implementing data-driven models and tools that solve real business problems.
This is a developer role, not just analytics you must be comfortable building and deploying machine learning models in production. Excellent communication skills are a must, as you will be working closely with both technical and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and deploy machine learning models using healthcare payer data.

Work closely with product managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver insights.

Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ML model APIs.

Analyze structured and unstructured data to extract valuable insights and features.

Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate ML models into existing platforms.

Ensure models are explainable, auditable, and comply with healthcare data standards.

Present findings, model outputs, and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Stay current with AI/ML trends, tools, and best practices.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

3+ years of hands-on experience in building and deploying machine learning models.

Strong programming skills in Python (scikit-learn, pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).

Experience working with healthcare payer data (e.g., claims, billing, utilization, or risk scoring).

Solid understanding of supervised/unsupervised ML techniques, data preprocessing, and feature engineering.

Proficient in deploying ML models via APIs using frameworks like Flask or FastAPI.

Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills ability to explain complex technical topics to business users.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with HIPAA-compliant environments and secure data handling.

Knowledge of healthcare standards like HL7, FHIR, or payer-provider interactions.

Exposure to NLP or time-series modeling in healthcare.

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure) for ML development and deployment.
