Role/Title: Peoplesoft Financial Consultant

Onsite - Columbus, OH

Role Summary: Serve as a subject matter expert and liaison across Business, IT, and Managed Services Providers (MSPs) to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of the PeopleSoft Financial (FIN) ERP system. This role is critical in supporting daily financial operations, driving process improvements, managing vendor performance, and leading initiatives that enhance ERP functionality and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Operational and Technical Support

  • Support day-to-day PeopleSoft-based financial operations in collaboration with business users and MSPs.
  • Lead identification, triage, troubleshooting, and resolution of ERP FIN production issues.
  • Monitor and maintain SFTP server interface activity and notify stakeholders of outages or maintenance affecting OAKS.
  • Communicate customer issues clearly to ERP FIN support personnel to facilitate timely resolution.

Business Process & Technology Improvement

  • Analyze and evaluate business processes using modeling tools and vendor solution reviews.
  • Identify opportunities for reengineering or streamlining workflows through technology implementation.
  • Recommend improvements that drive efficiency and reduce cost across financial operations.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with ERP MSPs, ensuring adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs) and performance standards.
  • Drive collaboration among internal Infrastructure, Security, Business stakeholders, and external vendors to support the ERP operations calendar.
  • Validate vendor estimates and review MSP-delivered enhancements for technical accuracy and alignment with business requirements.

Project and Requirements Management

  • Lead or support requirements gathering efforts for enhancements and fixes by defining tasks and coordinating stakeholder input.
  • Develop and/or review business requirements documents to ensure completeness and clarity.
  • Validate the final solution against specifications to ensure successful delivery.
  • Provide ongoing project support, testing assistance, progress monitoring, and stakeholder communications.

Risk Management and Governance

  • Identify risks associated with system performance, business processes, or project delivery.
  • Recommend mitigation strategies, process changes, or system enhancements to address issues proactively.

Communication and Coordination

  • Act as a liaison between business owners, IT, and MSP teams to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Facilitate effective communication among project team members and stakeholders.
  • Notify SFTP account owners of relevant changes and scheduled outages to maintain operational continuity.

Required Competencies

  • Strong understanding of PeopleSoft Financial modules and ERP ecosystems.
  • Experience in vendor and stakeholder management, particularly in a government or public sector context.
  • Proficiency in analyzing business processes and translating them into IT solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks across operational support and project workstreams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
