Job Details

Who We Are:

A multidisciplinary team of engineers, program managers, and technicians to develop spaceflight missions, spacecraft, spacecraft avionics systems, plus spacecraft instrutments and payloads.

Objectives of this Role:

  • Work in multidisciplinary project teams to support the software development of our spacecraft payloads and instruments.
  • Participate in the design, analysis, and software development of our spacecraft systems to enable the next generation of spaceflight exploration
  • Interface with team members, and support design reviews to justify design decisions.
  • Local Student Position.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Familiarize intern with the fundamental concepts, terminologies, and technologies related to spacecraft payloads and instrument software.
  • Work on small-scale coding projects, code reviews, and pair programming exercises; offer training in languages commonly used in the industry such as C++, Python, and MATLAB; and introduce version control systems like Git.
  • Involve interns in real-world projects under the supervision of experienced engineers; allow them to contribute to software modules for data processing, control systems, and communication interfaces.
  • Include interns in project planning and review meetings; teach them about the project lifecycle, from concept to deployment; and introduce them to agile development practices and project management tools.

Requirements:

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 0 years: Simulation experience in NASA missions, including trajectory, determining best communication and plotting velocity aspects
  • Basic skill set in programming with programming languages such as C/C++ and Python. Other languages such as Java and C# are acceptable.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
