Job Details

Role: DB2 DBA LUW - (W2 Ony)
Location: remote
Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and upgrade DB2 LUW database instances on Linux, Unix, or Windows platforms.

  • Monitor database performance, conduct tuning, and optimize queries and indexing strategies.

  • Perform database backups, restores, and recovery operations using DB2 utilities (e.g., db2backup, db2restore).

  • Set up and maintain HADR (High Availability Disaster Recovery) and TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager) configurations.

  • Create and manage database users, roles, and permissions for data security.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot physical and logical database structures, including tablespaces, buffer pools, logs, and storage.

  • Automate tasks using shell scripting, Python, or Perl.

  • Collaborate with application developers for query optimization and provide production support.

  • Conduct patching and version upgrades with minimal downtime.

  • Document procedures, configurations, and standards.

Technical Skills Required:
  • Strong hands-on experience with IBM DB2 LUW (v10.x/v11.x/v12.x).

  • Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, and UNIX/Linux shell scripting.

  • Experience with DB2 Data Studio, db2pd, db2top, and monitoring tools.

  • Knowledge of backup strategies, log shipping, mirroring, and clustering.

  • Experience with data replication tools like Q Replication or CDC is a plus.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) for DB2 deployments is desirable.

  • Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD in database environments is a plus.
