Content Writer / Strategist

We’re Hiring: Content Writer / Strategist (Local Only)
Location: Philadelphia, PA (Onsite)

Spruce Technology, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Content Writer/Strategist to support the Phila.gov platform redesign initiative. This role will lead content and data migration from the legacy website to a new CMS, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with the City of Philadelphia’s voice and digital standards.

🔹 Role Overview

• Audit, restructure, rewrite, and migrate web content to a new CMS

• Translate complex city programs and services into clear, user-friendly language

• Collaborate with city departments, designers, and developers

• Ensure content meets accessibility (WCAG), SEO, and plain-language standards

• Validate content readiness and resolve gaps prior to launch

🔹 Required Qualifications

• Experience writing for government, public sector, or civic websites

• Familiarity with Philadelphia city services and community needs

• CMS and digital publishing experience

• Basic SEO and web analytics knowledge

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills

🔹 Highly Preferred

• Prior experience with Phila.gov or similar government websites

• Strong understanding of accessibility and plain-language principles

• Experience working with cross-functional digital teams

• Data-driven approach to content improvement
