Product Owner Information Architecture

Job Description:

• Develop and articulate a clear product vision for data governance, data quality, and MDM initiatives.
• Align data product strategy with overall business objectives and goals. Create and maintain a prioritized product backlog.
• Establish and oversee the implementation of data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability roles. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop data classification and retention policies.
• Define data quality metrics and KPIs. Implement data quality improvement initiatives. Oversee data cleansing and profiling activities.
• Define and implement MDM strategies and processes. Ensure data consistency and accuracy across the organization. Manage master data lifecycle and governance.
• Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, IT teams, and data consumers.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Manage expectations and address stakeholder concerns.
• Collaborate with agile teams to deliver data-related features and enhancements. Prioritize and manage the product backlog. Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
• The Product Owner has 5+ years of relevant work experience. As part of the Information Architecture Team, the Product Owner will take ownership of the application(s) as well as being responsible for working with software developers/engineers and architects to provide consultative guidance and direction to the team.
• The Product Owner will also be responsible for building out the backlog, defining acceptance criteria, approving cards and moving them to completion, managing code deployment, and leading the development team members.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor' s or Master' s degree in a relevant field such as Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Understanding of cloud-based as well as on-prem applications.
• Must feel comfortable with defining and planning work for development teams.
• Previous experience with Azure/Google Cloud Platform/AWS is plus.
• Experience with Confluent Kafka is preferred.
• Strong understanding of data governance and observability tools like Microsoft Purview, Informatica, Profisee is required.
• The ideal candidate takes the initiative in scoping out work for their development team, is organized, able to present/communicate in front of large groups, and able to collaborate cross functionally
• Retail/CPG domain knowledge is plus.
