Required Education/Experience:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience
3 or more years of software engineering experience
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in software development within an agile environment
Background in business operations and strategies, including global technology and financial services trends
Awareness of with layered systems architectures, designs and shared software concepts
Familiarity with Unit, Functional and System integration testing
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Openness and adaptability to respond to fast-moving circumstances
Aptitude for working in teams
Proficiency in multiple object-oriented and functional programming languages knowledge
In-depth knowledge of diverse and emerging technologies, architectural concepts, and principles
Awareness of policies regarding security and privacy
Understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics and incremental deliver
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of the insurance industry and products
Claims experience is helpful but not required; someone from another carrier would be ideal
Excited by trying new technology and learning new tools
Ideally looking for candidates who have worked for Fortune 100 companies
Required Technical Skills:
Full stack engineering skills, including React, Typescript, Node JS, AWS, Graphql, Redis, MongoDB
Responsibilities:
Work in an agile environment to develop creative solutions for our claims product
Accelerate speed to market by addressing current product needs and developing long-term strategic solutions using technologies such as React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, and other potential backend languages
Utilize cloud services and tools, including AWS, Cloud Foundry, and CDNs like Akamai
Demonstrate proficiency in multiple object-oriented and functional programming languages
Build and implement RESTful services
Employ an open-minded and collaborative approach to create innovative technical solutions
Analyze technical system problems to design and implement effective, flexible solutions
Handle end-to-end development, including coding, testing, and debugging in each development cycle
Develop automated tests across multiple scopes, including unit, system, integration, and regression testing
Identify and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement
