Senior Java Developer (Contract Opportunity)

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid/Onsite as required)
Duration: Long-term contract

The organization is seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and enhance custom-built applications supporting enterprise business operations. This is a great opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects while working with a modern technology stack in a collaborative team environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, multi-tier Java/J2EE applications using Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.

  • Perform systems analysis and application design for complex business processes.

  • Develop and support Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)-based solutions.

  • Create, test, and maintain Bash and other automation scripts.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams using GitHub, JIRA, and version control tools.

  • Work with the agency s custom-built applications that support key organizational systems and services.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience designing and developing multi-tier Java/J2EE applications with Spring/Spring Boot.

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible systems analysis and business application design experience.

  • 5+ years of experience with SOA-based architecture and technologies such as XML, HTML, WSDL, JavaScript, AJAX, JSF, JQuery, and Node.js.

  • 5+ years of experience in Bash scripting.

  • 4+ years of related education (Bachelor s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field) or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience using SVN, GitHub, and JIRA.

  • 2+ years of experience with custom-built enterprise applications for vehicle registration and titling.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced scripting skills.

  • Working knowledge of JCL, Natural/COBOL, and Maxenso.

  • Experience with Python scripting and DB2 databases.
