Job Summary
Battelle is seeking Computer Engineer V to work in the Electronic Warfare group within the National Security Division. The position is located at Battelle Headquarters in Columbus, OH.
The Computer Engineer leads complex, multidisciplinary and innovative engineering research studies. Determines the appropriate analysis methods, identifies problems, and develops and implements solutions to complex problems. Assignments may involve research for device and technology development; the design, build and integration of hardware and software components for computing systems and networks; and development of specifications for assigned system components.

Job Summary

Determines the appropriate analysis methods, identifies problems, and develops and implements solutions to complex problems. Assignments may involve research for device and technology development; the design, build and integration of hardware and software components for computing systems and networks; and development of specifications for assigned system components.
Responsibilities
- Leads complex and advanced technical projects where technical staff compile and evaluate design and test data, prepare technical specifications, analyze technical data to determine appropriate limits and variables for computing systems, components, equipment, and networks.
- Leads the analysis of complex data and provides focused interpretive reports detailing problems, innovative solutions and other recommendations.
- Prepares and presents advanced technical reports and presentations to clients.
- Leading teams in their discipline.
- Leads, plans and conducts major technical projects or major phases of significant technical projects, coordinating the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects within time and budget constraints.
- Reviews projects progress and evaluates results. Recommends modifications and corrections in technical applications and analysis.
- Develop project and overhead budgets with clients and management.
- Manages major proposals or major sections of large proposals.
- Build relationships with internal and external clients. Manages client meetings and consults with clients on long-term research programs.
- Recognized by clients as an expert in one or more specific areas of electrical/electronic engineering. Presents results to clients, regulators, stakeholders, and in public forums as necessary.
- Leads IR&D tasks. Works on projects involving innovative methods or applications.
- Maintains successful, ongoing business development efforts and plays a lead role in identifying, cultivating, and capturing major business opportunities.
- Assists in developing and implementing strategic plans for business development in particular area.
- Consults with product line and marketing managers on long-term strategic planning issues.
- Participates in scientific conferences, peer review panels, and increases company visibility through publications.
- Provides strong mentoring, technical guidance, and oversight to other scientists and engineers.
- Provides work assignments to lower-level staff.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field with 10 years of experience or master's degree in related field with 8 years of experience or PhD with 5 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep knowledge and experience in development of software architecture for Telecommunications O-RAN Radio Units (5G) and DoD RF EW/C2 systems.
- Current US Government Security Clearance
