Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AMS (Application Managed Services) Support Lead with strong expertise in Talend, PostgreSQL, and Snowflake to lead production support for mission-critical banking applications. The ideal candidate will be technically hands-on, capable of troubleshooting complex issues, leading war rooms during critical incidents, ensuring SLA compliance, and providing strategic direction to the support team.
Key Responsibilities
Incident & Problem Management
- Lead high-priority incident resolution (P1/P2) and drive war room discussions to closure.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to reduce recurrence.
- Ensure timely communication and status updates to stakeholders during outages.
Technical Leadership
- Provide thought leadership in optimizing Talend ETL jobs, PostgreSQL database queries, and Snowflake pipelines.
- Guide the team in adopting best practices for data integration, performance tuning, and platform stability.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies relevant to data engineering and AMS operations.
Operational Excellence & SLA Adherence
- Oversee daily monitoring, job execution, and strict adherence to SLAs for incident resolution, service requests, and batch processing.
- Track SLA performance metrics, identify breaches or risks, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain real-time dashboards and reports for SLA compliance and operational KPIs.
- Create and maintain operational runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles.
- Drive automation initiatives to improve support efficiency and reduce manual interventions.
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with business teams, application owners, and infrastructure teams for seamless issue resolution.
- Provide regular reports on system health, incident trends, SLA adherence, and improvement actions.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to security, audit, and compliance requirements in a banking environment.
- Maintain operational readiness for DR (Disaster Recovery) and BCP (Business Continuity Planning) activities.
Required Skills & Experience
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong hands-on experience with Talend ETL (development and support).
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL (query optimization, indexing, performance tuning).
- Solid understanding of Snowflake architecture, pipelines, and query performance best practices.
- Leadership Skills:
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional war rooms during high-pressure incidents.
- Strong mentorship and team leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide support teams.
- Banking Domain Knowledge:
- Prior experience supporting banking and financial applications, including understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
- SLA Management:
- Strong background in SLA tracking, reporting, and enforcement in AMS environments.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities in a global environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- ITIL certification preferred.
- 10+ years of IT experience with at least 5 years in AMS leadership roles.
