Job Type: 6 to 12 months Contract

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Developer with strong expertise in PostgreSQL to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database solutions to support business applications. This role requires deep knowledge of relational database management systems, performance tuning, and data modeling.

Responsibilities:-

Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views in PostgreSQL.

Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting for high-volume transactional systems.

Collaborate with application developers, data engineers, and business analysts to support data-driven initiatives.

Create and maintain data models, schemas, and ETL processes.

Ensure database security, integrity, stability, and high availability.

Perform database migration, backup, and recovery strategies as needed.

Analyze requirements and provide scalable, efficient database solutions.

Document database structures, processes, and standards.

Required Skills:

8+ years of experience as a SQL Developer with a strong focus on PostgreSQL.

Expertise in writing complex SQL queries and PL/pgSQL programming.

Strong knowledge of database design, normalization, indexing, and partitioning.

Hands-on experience with performance tuning and query optimization techniques.

Experience with data migration, replication, and backup/recovery strategies.

Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Nice to Have:

Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure PostgreSQL, or Google Cloud Platform Cloud SQL).

Knowledge of other relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).

Exposure to NoSQL databases is a plus.

Familiarity with DevOps tools for database automation.
