The Tech Delivery team at American Express is seeking a highly skilled consultant to support the enterprise-wide LUMI migration initiative-a strategic transformation effort focused on migrating core workloads to Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). This role is critical in bridging the gap between technical cloud operations and financial governance, ensuring that cloud consumption aligns with budgetary expectations and enterprise cost optimization goals.

Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Financial Management & Forecasting:
- Own the end-to-end process of cloud financial planning, including budget forecasting, variance analysis, and monthly/quarterly reporting.
- Translate cloud consumption metrics (e.g., compute, storage, network usage) into actionable financial insights.
- Partner with engineering and infrastructure teams to model cost implications of architectural decisions and usage patterns.
- Technical Cloud Insight:
- Leverage a strong understanding of Google Cloud Platform (preferred), AWS, or Azure services to interpret billing data and usage trends.
- Collaborate with FinOps, CloudOps, and DevOps teams to optimize cloud spend and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Monitor and analyze cloud billing dashboards, usage reports, and cost anomalies.
- Reporting & Stakeholder Communication:
- Develop and maintain executive-level dashboards and reports using Excel (pivot tables, macros, advanced formulas) and/or visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Present financial performance updates to senior leadership, highlighting key trends, risks, and recommendations.
- Support internal audit and compliance reviews related to cloud spend and financial controls.
- Project Delivery Support:
- Act as a liaison between finance, procurement, and technical delivery teams to ensure alignment on project milestones and financial targets.
- Contribute to the development of cloud cost governance frameworks, tagging strategies, and chargeback models.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in project financial management, ideally within a technology or cloud transformation environment.
- Strong working knowledge of cloud platforms, with a preference for Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
- Proven ability to analyze and forecast cloud consumption and translate it into accurate financial projections.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial modeling and executive reporting.
- Familiarity with cloud billing tools (e.g., Google Cloud Platform Billing Console, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management) and FinOps principles.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- FinOps Certified Practitioner or similar certification.
- Experience with enterprise-scale cloud migrations or digital transformation programs.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
