Position Summary
The Data Analyst provides analytics and visualization support to the Financial Strategy and Analytics team. Navigate large data sources with a variety of owners across NYU, including financial, operations, human capital, academic, research, student, facilities, and real estate, among others. Connect across data sources and synthesize findings in a concise manner. Generate analyses and insights that support operational decision-making and drive change aligned with the Chief Financial Officer's strategic goals and mission. Partner with schools and units to understand qualitative perspectives and merge these insights with quantitative findings to provide actionable recommendations.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree
Required Experience:
1+ years experience with data analytics and data visualization, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong analytical skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy, logical approaches to problem-solving, the ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently and effectively, professional communication skills and good judgment, and a desire and ability to take initiative, while successfully contributing to a collegial group environment. Proficiency with spreadsheet applications. Strong knowledge of database applications and word processing software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong grasp and familiarity with key business and financial concepts and tools (e.g. budgets, operating expenses, capital expenses, financial statements). Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Power BI tools is preferred.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $79,200.00 to USD $96,800.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
