Job Posting Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent education or work experience in biology, chemistry, or related field required.
- Some experience with micropipettes and automated liquid handling systems highly beneficial.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong documentation skills with high attention to detail
- Multitasking and problem-solving skills
- A positive attitude and ability to work within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to continuously sit, stand or walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.
We look for someone right out of school (with a 2- or 4-year degree in biology, chemistry, biotech or similar and 1-2 years of experience at most.
This role as needed in this lab requires a little skill/experience with pipetting, so general manufacturing experience isn t as good a fit since we now have limited time to get them trained for the work.
This is highly repetitive with no real opportunity to expand responsibilities or scope.
The person is either packaging 100s of tubes by hand or by automation or putting together a plate (about 50 per hour).
Job Posting Description
As a packaging technician, you will be primarily responsible for dispensing and labeling liquid consumables for our capillary electrophoresis and microfluidics platforms, in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and standard operating procedures in a clean laboratory production environment.
You will have an opportunity to become skilled in the use of a wide range of lab equipment, including but not limited to micropipettes, PCR and laminar flow hoods, peristaltic pumps, automated fillers, and labelers. Having the ability to learn quickly on the job, anticipate and resolve potential manufacturing and delivery issues, and maintain the highest level of quality are critical.
Job Duties:
- Complete orders as assigned following Standard Operating Procedures, within a clean aseptic environment.
- Perform daily cleaning of work surfaces and equipment to maintain a clean aseptic environment.
- Perform packaging, labeling, and lot tracking of consumable products using semi-automated and automated equipment.
- Management and storage of raw materials.
- Maintenance and validation of production equipment.
- Management of inventory and production processes via SAP ERP software.
- Working independently and as a team to ensure production deadlines are met.
- Cleaning, stocking, and other duties as needed.
