Our Challenge:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineering Lead to join our team in the credit card domain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance, automation testing, and a deep understanding of the credit card processing landscape. This role requires expertise in the Karate Testing Framework to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements and regulatory standards.

Additional Information:

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.

In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pittsburgh, PA is $95K-$105K /year & benefits (see below).

 

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of quality engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Test Strategy Development: Define and implement the overall test strategy and quality assurance processes for credit card applications, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Karate Testing Framework: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using the Karate Testing Framework for API and end-to-end testing, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
  • Test Planning: Collaborate with project stakeholders to create detailed test plans, including test cases, test data, and resource requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Advocate for best practices in quality engineering, promoting the adoption of automation and performance testing methodologies across the team.
  • Defect Management: Establish and manage defect tracking processes, ensuring timely resolution of issues and effective communication with development teams.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and manage risks related to software quality, providing actionable insights and recommendations to mitigate potential issues.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, business analysts, and development teams to understand business requirements and ensure alignment with testing efforts.
  • Reporting: Generate detailed test reports and metrics to provide visibility into testing progress, quality status, and areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master s degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of experience in quality engineering, with at least 3 years, specifically within the credit card or financial services domain.
  • Karate Framework Expertise: Extensive experience in using the Karate Testing Framework for API and end-to-end testing, with a strong understanding of its features and capabilities.
  • Automation Skills: Proficiency in automation testing tools and frameworks, with a focus on RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Credit Card Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of credit card processing, transactions, compliance regulations (PCI-DSS), and related financial services.
  • Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile development practices and experience working in Agile teams.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred, but not required

  • Experience with other testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git).
