Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Atlassian Engineer to lead the end-to-end migration of Jira and Confluence from a self-managed Data Center environment to Atlassian Cloud (SaaS). This role requires hands-on technical expertise in Atlassian tools, cloud migration best practices, and strong experience in system administration, scripting, and automation. The ideal candidate will work closely with infrastructure, security, DevOps, and business teams to ensure a seamless, secure, and efficient transition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of Jira and Confluence from Data Center to Atlassian Cloud.

• Analyze and document existing configurations, workflows, user management, and integrations.

• Use Atlassian migration tools (e.g., Jira Cloud Migration Assistant, Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant) to plan and execute migrations.

• Resolve issues related to plugins, compatibility, and data integrity during the transition.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align migration plans with business and technical needs.

• Implement best practices for Atlassian Cloud architecture, security, and performance.

• Support CI/CD pipelines and automate administrative tasks using APIs and scripts.

• Integrate Atlassian tools with external systems, including SSO (Okta, Azure AD), DevOps tools, and monitoring platforms.

• Provide post-migration support, documentation, and user training as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 6 9 years of experience as a Jira/Confluence/Atlassian Engineer or System Admin.

• Proven expertise in migrating Jira and Confluence from Data Center to Atlassian Cloud.

• Deep understanding of Jira/Confluence architecture, configuration, and administration.

• Proficiency with Atlassian migration tools and troubleshooting methodologies.

• Experience working with AWS infrastructure, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong background in Linux system administration.

• Programming/scripting knowledge in Java or equivalent languages.

• Familiarity with identity management and SSO integration (Okta, Azure AD).

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Atlassian certifications (ACP-100, ACP-500, etc.)

• Experience with automation tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, or similar

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments.
