Description

We are in search of a Machine Learning Engineer to be a part of our client's team based in Chicago. This role is responsible for building and maintaining advanced analytic models. You will be closely working with senior leadership to understand their needs and assess how they can be met through specific analyses. The role is situated within the Strategy and Business Development group and will be instrumental in supporting our institutions and Home Office in subjects related to admissions, retention, and financial outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Lead a team of 2-3

Establish governance standards, policies, and procedures for secure and ethical use of AI throughout the organization.

Collaborate with other analytical leaders to implement the strategic direction of the business through data and information exploration, research of emerging AI technologies or analytical techniques, and execution of assignments.

Identify and manage existing and emerging risks stemming from business activities and the job role.

Oversee and carry out the exploration of promising new technologies, analytical methods, and data sources (internal & external) that have the potential to contribute to the enterprise.

Partner with enterprise analytical and IT teams to build core capabilities and processes.

Plan a long-term roadmap of solutions that influence decision makers and inspire change, based on understanding the business direction, environment, and strategies.

Use large and complex data sets from large amounts of structured and unstructured data (internal and external) to enable analytical solutions.

Implement machine learning algorithms and architecture, leveraging skills in Apache Cassandra, Apache Kafka, Apache Pig, Apache Spark, Database, Algorithm Implementation, Analytics, Apache Hadoop, API Development, AWS Technologies, Leadership Skills, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Applied artificial intelligence, and Machine Learning.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience in machine learning engineering with at least 10 years in a relevant role
Proficiency in Apache Cassandra, Apache Kafka, Apache Pig, Apache Spark, and Database management
Strong skills in algorithm implementation and analytics
Expertise in Apache Hadoop and API development
Experience with AWS technologies is necessary
Exceptional leadership skills
Knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) and applied artificial intelligence
Proficiency in machine learning, machine learning algorithms, and machine learning architecture
Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field
Proven track record of driving successful machine learning projects
Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, and R
Ability to articulate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Ability to keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends and innovations in machine learning.
