Title: IT Disaster Recovery Senior Manager
Location: Miami, FL- Hybrid
Duration: Direct Hire
Compensation: $130K-$160K

The IT Disaster Recovery Senior Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure the company can recover and continue operations in the event of a disaster. This role involves managing disaster recovery planning, testing, and incident response efforts while ensuring alignment with business continuity (BC) strategies. The Senior Manager collaborates with IT, business units, and external stakeholders to mitigate risks and ensure regulatory requirements and industry standards compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing resources through hiring, training, development, performance management, and annual reviews.
  • Assign work, have regular touchpoints, and ensure that individuals have the tools and resources to complete assigned tasks.
  • Communicate performance goals and expectations.
  • Proactively provide feedback and ask for feedback to ensure alignment.
  • Build a cohesive, highly motivated team by mentoring, coaching, leading by example, and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning to maximize team performance.
  • Reinforce our client s culture and ensure the team complies with all company regulations and audits.
  • Stakeholder Communication and Reporting: Communicate with internal stakeholders, senior management, and vendors.
  • Prepare and present status reports and proposals. Address inquiries, risks, and issues in a timely manner.
  • Hire and oversee the management and performance of vendors and third-party service providers.
  • Adhere to contracting processes ensuring all resources are working with an active contract.
  • Ensure invoices are paid on time and hold vendor accountable to deliverables and timelines.
  • Ensure integration with our client s culture and processes.
  • Budgeting and Planning: Establish departmental and project budgets, manage expenses, and time reporting, and create accurate forecasts.
  • Facilitate the procurement of software and services needed by the team. Adhere to all purchasing, invoicing, and financial policies, and processes.
  • Collaborate to develop and execute strategic plans.
  • Planning and Program Development: Plan, lead, and manage strategic projects and initiatives with cross functional teams.
  • Define objectives, establish priorities, and allocate resources to meet goals.
  • Support project team, key stakeholders, and management for a successful delivery that meets the business objective and ROI.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure systems comply with security policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively embed security measures into the development process, which includes continuously monitoring for potential threats, responding swiftly to security incidents, managing those incidents with precision, and implementing sophisticated security protocols to mitigate future risks.
  • Cross Team Engagement: Partner closely with all technology areas, aligning plans, accelerating delivery, and leveraging where possible to optimize costs and platforms.
  • Planning and Execution: Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans and procedures.
  • Lead the disaster recovery testing and validation processes, including tabletop exercises and full-scale simulations.
  • Identify gaps and recommend improvements based on test results.
  • Prepare reports and metrics on DR program effectiveness and readiness.
  • Continuously review and update disaster recovery plans based on lessons learned and changes in the business environment.
  • Provide training and awareness programs on disaster recovery processes.
  • Business Alignment: Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify critical business functions and processes.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure disaster recovery plans are aligned with business objectives.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to disaster recovery and business continuity.
  • Disaster Recovery: Manage and coordinate the response to actual disaster events, ensuring effective communication before during and after events.
  • Manage recovery efforts, conduct lessons learned, and update DR plans.
Skillset / Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • 8+ years' Experience in leading the development, testing, and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans for a large enterprise
  • 8+ years' Experience with DR/BC frameworks, methodologies, and technologies
  • 8+ years' Experience with cloud-based disaster recovery solutions and hybrid environments
  • 8+ years' Experience developing strong vendor relationships, authoring SOW's, and managing accountability.
  • 8+ years' Experience creating, documenting, and executing technology strategies that align with business goals & objectives.
  • 8+ years' Experience providing oversight for technology operations; measuring performance, meeting SLAs, improving quality, and driving down incidents.
  • 8+ years' Experience successfully leading cross-functional teams to successful delivery.
  • 8+ years' Experience directly managing staff and providing oversight to a team of technology professionals (on-site, near-shore and off-shore).
  • 8+ years' Experience planning and delivering large-scale initiatives.
  • 5+ years' Experience administering Budgets; Monitoring Expenses; Authorizing Payments; and Securing Equipment/Goods.
  • 1+ years in the cruise and/or travel industry preferred
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and applications, and how they relate to business processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of risk management and business impact analysis.
  • Business domain expertise and associated systems used within the specific portfolio.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity incident response and its integration with disaster recovery.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX).
  • Ability to lead others through changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Highly analytical and detailed oriented with a strong business sense.
  • Ability to manage projects, tight deadlines, prioritize workload, and achieve effective results through others.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with business leaders.
  • Ability to write comprehensive and concise technical reports and presentations to be consumed by non-technical individuals.
  • Ability to create PowerPoint presentations that are informative and engaging and deliver them to various audiences including executive management.
  • Ability to lead others through critical thinking, creative problem solving, and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication, team building, conflict management, and organizational skills.
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals and drive results.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and teach new technologies and concepts.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing team dynamics.
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) preferred
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI preferred
  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) preferred
  • Certified Disaster Recovery Engineer (CDRE) preferred
