Lockheed Martin (LM) is looking for a hardworking Technical Lead to become a member of the Satellite Based Augmentation System team.
As the Tech Lead for SBAS, you will directly help establish the technical solution for cutting edge SBAS systems for international customers. You will oversee the synthesis of an SBAS system that incorporates software and signal processing components from LM, subcontractors, and suppliers with specific customer operations sites and customer furnished equipment. You will serve as the technical voice and conscience of the program ensuring that the system performs as expected within the available schedule and budget. You will also be the single technical point of contact for the customer liaising between the customer, LM, and other contractors. You will plan and lead the technical content of program execution, contribute to developing a long-term business strategy including identifying strategic investments, and assist in bidding and developing new SBAS partnerships and programs worldwide. This role will have split responsibilities between program execution and business development.
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
Familiarity with typical civil aviation and ICAO practices, regulations, and procedures
Understanding of GNSS systems and how SBAS interacts with them
Working level knowledge of how signal processing algorithms contributes to SBAS signal regeneration
Ability to support a customer or prime contractor as a technical consultant for all aspects of the SBAS solution
Ability to lead a partner with a subcontractor to develop a technical solution that meets cost, schedule, and requirements
Comfort communicating and interacting with international partners, companies, and government organizations
Availability to travel internationally
Working level knowledge of program management principles to assist program manager in planning and executing work
Familiarity with proposal development activities and ability to lead technical volume production
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey highly technical concepts in simple language
The SBAS Tech Lead's responsibilities include:
Identify and shape future SBAS opportunities in the global market, including potential extensions, upgrades, and adjacent applications
Partner with Business Development, Strategy, and Capture teams to develop technical solutions and white papers in support of future SBAS pursuits
Represent Lockheed Martin in industry forums, customer engagements, and regional collaborations to advance our SBAS positioning
Support proposal development, including leading technical volumes and cost estimation for future SBAS efforts
Support program execution and facilitate delivery of SBAS capabilities to the customer
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's or higher degree in an engineering or related degree
Experience with Positioning, Navigation, and Timing RF signals, RF communications technologies, or digital signal processing techniques
Experience leading technical proposals and authoring technical volumes
Experience authoring technical requirements, plans, or procedures
Experience with MS Office applications and excellent written and oral communication skills

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $144,600 - $255,070. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.
