Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.

The SPY-6 Family of Radars (FoR) is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Principal Infrastructure Systems Engineer to play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of our tactical operating systems, networking, and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software across our FoR. You will be instrumental in configuring and integrating RedHat as our primary operating system, alongside Windows systems, within a sophisticated Layer 3 network environment. As a key member of our team, you can expect to be involved in all phases of the systems development life cycle, applying rigorous Configuration Management practices and utilizing problem tracking systems to implement critical OS-level configurations that directly support our applications and stringent Secure Systems Engineering (SSE) requirements. Furthermore, this role includes exciting opportunities for system installation and operational support in the field. You will be empowered to leverage your expertise to provide practical and innovative solutions to complex technical software and hardware challenges.

This is an on-site position located in Marlborough, Massachusetts. Occasional travel to stakeholder sites will be required.

What You will Do:
  • Configure and install RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating systems.
  • Configure and install network switches from leading vendors such as Dell and Cisco.
  • Set up and manage other essential network devices (e.g., NAS devices, terminal servers) to meet critical program system requirements.
  • Drive and contribute to the support and continuous improvement of our DevSecOps pipeline. This includes actively identifying opportunities for integration and test automation, developing creative solutions to streamline processes, and eliminating non-value-added steps.
  • Demonstrate the initiative and composure to effectively handle emergency situations that may disrupt the pipeline, ensuring swift and efficient resolution.
  • Join collaborative team setting, actively contributing your expertise, and working seamlessly with engineers of all levels to achieve shared goals.
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to debug and resolve stability issues across our various software baselines.
  • Conduct thorough integration and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and tools operating on a Linux platform.
  • Take ownership of the maintenance and enhancement of our critical tooling infrastructure.
  • Embrace potential opportunities for domestic and international travel to support program objectives.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, and Bash.
  • Must possess the ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
  • Experience with Configuration Management tools, including ClearCase, Git, or similar systems.
  • Experience working with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with Dell OS and Cisco IOS platforms.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience with virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with RedHat Linux administration and system-level management.
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively and contribute positively to team dynamics.
