Job Title: Desktop Support III - MUST BE LOCAL TO WISCONSIN
Location: Madison, WI (100% Onsite)
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Job Overview:
Seeking a Desktop Support Technician (Level III) to provide hands-on technical support and assist with multiple desktop initiatives critical to operations.
The ideal candidate will be skilled in troubleshooting within complex environments, comfortable with both remote console and desk-side support, and capable of working independently without scripted guidance.
Top Required Skills (3+ years of experience each):
Troubleshooting issues on Windows laptops and desktops
Tracking and managing workload through a ticketing system
Performing software installations (packaged and manual)
Setting up computer stations and peripheral devices
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience using desktop tools such as Ivanti or SCCM
Experience imaging computer systems
Work Location & Requirements:
100% Onsite at DHS Central Office (Madison, WI)
Candidate must reside in Wisconsin or be willing to relocate at their own expense prior to start
Project Details & Responsibilities:
PC Endpoint Support: Provide timely support to DHS staff to ensure continuity in critical operations.
System Upgrades: Assist with upgrading systems to Windows 11, BIOS updates, and encryption transition to BitLocker.
Office Relocation: Support DHS s upcoming move to the GEF1 building, including setup validation and hands-on technical troubleshooting.
Additional Information:
Complex technical environment with limited scripting support strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills are essential.
While remote tools are often used, many tasks will require desk-side assistance.
Candidates should be proactive, technically competent, and able to work independently.
