Job Details

Vaco is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide second-level IT support for over 200+ retail store locations. This is a contract role through the end of the year with the potential for extension based on performance.

As part of a small but dynamic IT team, you’ll handle escalated help desk calls and support retail store systems—including desktops, credit card machines, printers, scanners, and network devices. This role is fast-paced and critical in ensuring smooth operations so store teams can focus on serving customers.

Pay: $25–30/hr (contract)

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide Level 2 support for desktops, POS registers, printers, and retail-specific hardware

  • Troubleshoot escalated incidents that go beyond Level 1 Help Desk

  • Support store network connectivity (basic switches/routers/Wi-Fi troubleshooting)

  • Assist with hardware replacement, imaging, and deployment

  • Collaborate with IT engineers, vendors, and store managers to resolve technical issues

  • Document solutions and contribute to the knowledge base

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2–4 years of IT support experience, including Level 2 troubleshooting

  • Experience in a retail IT environment (POS, credit card machines, printers, scanners, etc.)

  • Excellent communication skills for working with store teams under time-sensitive situations

  • Familiarity with Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and basic networking (DNS, DHCP, VPN)

  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree or relevant IT certifications (preferred, not required)

Details:

  • Contract through end of year (potential for extension)

  • Onsite in Downtown Cincinnati, OH (occasional travel to nearby offices possible)
