UAS Aviation Analyst III -Advanced Air Mobility (AAM)

Job Description:

Provides professional services involving the analysis and study of aviation technical and operational issues and advises on methods and techniques to improve aviation system work processes, procedures, resources, management controls, information systems, documentation and similar functions. Based upon study findings, develops detailed recommendation on methods, procedures to apply and alternative means to improve aviation system performance. Develops project plans and determines resource needs and allocations. Determines information requirements and devises methods to secure it. Works in concert with team leaders and members engaged in the analysis and study of complex aviation technical and operational issues. Utilizes and applies knowledge of web information technology and associated tools such as micro media flash, adobe, SharePoint, etc. to provide an information format for Government and industry personnel and the general public.

Job Requirements:

Strong technical skills in aviation, flight experience - UAS specific flight experience preferable. Knowledge of FAA regulations, most notably 49 part 91 and part 107 as they relate to UAS. Understand the difference between civil, commercial, and public aircraft operations. Experience with UAS systems and capabilities. Knowledge of UAS, including technology, operations, regulations and applications. Knowledge of UAS beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS) operations and associated mitigations as well as command and control (C2) and detect and avoid (DAA) capabilities. Knowledge of air traffic, flight standards procedures and aircraft certification processes and procedures. Strong knowledge of Advance Air Mobility (AAM). Must be able to perform research on aspects of UAS to respond to inquiries and be able to problem-solve and think critically. Possess - Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead, guide and work with groups across lines of business that include federal and contract resources. Applicants should also be adaptable, pro-active, able to multi-task, flexible, have the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, and have the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.

Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint. Requires intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Access, Microsoft Project, and Sharepoint.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

Master's Degree in aeronautics, aeronautical engineering, electrical engineering or similar aviation related discipline and 15 years of direct aviation experience concerning flight operations and, as appropriate, experience as a pilot with a commercial or airline transport pilot rating as well as direct experience either in developing, evaluating or managing aviation industry safety policies and programs, or developing, implementing and managing governmental aviation safety regulatory and oversight policies and programs, or a combination of both. Master's Degree may be waived with Bachelor's Degree and 20 years of experience in performing the above duties.

Job location is 470 L'Enfant Plaza SW, Washington, DC 20024. Required clearance is an SF-85P completed on site by the FAA. ship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
