The Garage's Platform and Systems Team is seeking a seeking a creative, collaborative and customer-centric System Applications Engineer to join our team in Boston. Our team works cross-functionally to advance applications in biotech, energy, and autonomous systems that span the breadth of Intelligent Edge systems. You will be a defining new prototypes and minimally viable products in terms of feature set and roadmaps, and work with system architects and functional contributors to realize working systems.

With experiences in systems, software and electronics hardware, and determining what customers want to help us define future prototypes and minimally viable products (MVPs).

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a Product Owner to define and prioritize prototype or MVP scope and features.

  • Works with system architects to bridge definition, requirements and implementation.

  • Act as a primary point of contact for product inquiries, field testing and discovery

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable user stories and product backlogs.

  • Work closely with development teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.

  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps, ensuring clear communication of product vision and strategy.

  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and familiarity with tools like JIRA, Trello, or similar.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.

  • Experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role within an Agile development environment.

  • Background as a functional subject-matter expert in one or more of: embedded systems, analog circuits, software, systems engineering.

  • Proven ability to work with technical teams, define prototypes and MVPs, and see them through to completed systems that delight the customer.

  • Basic business acumen

  • 8+ years of experience
