Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor a team of product engineers focused on designing and refining optoelectronic assemblies, such as optical transceivers.
- Contribute to product development through Design For Manufacturing and Design For Test.
- Join product development at the Alpha to Beta transition to ensure design is well-documented and has sufficient margin for performance validation, reliability qualification, production ramp, and manufacturing yield.
- Contribute to optimization of assembly designs for efficiency, reliability, and manufacturability, incorporating advanced materials and photonic technologies.
- Implement control plans and manufacturing tests to ensure production satisfies market needs.
- Partner with production and supply chain teams to transition designs into scalable manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEC, RoHS).
- Own design integrity for product after transition from Beta to production. Maintain the set of product requirements and design artifacts and coordinate engineering change management post product release.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges related to optoelectronic performance.
- Track engineering orders through product development lifecycle to ensure delivery of new optoelectronic products on schedule and within cost targets.
- Stay informed on advancements in optoelectronics (e.g., laser technologies, fiber optics) to guide innovation and maintain competitive product offerings.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Materials Science, Semiconductor Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. (Master's Degree preferred.)
- 10+ years of experience in product engineering, with several years in a managerial role focused on optoelectronic systems or assemblies.
