Title: Project Engineer
Location: Houston, TX
Candidate should be from a Pharma background.
Role Overview:
The Project Engineer will support the successful delivery of a greenfield API manufacturing facility by coordinating technical activities, managing engineering deliverables, and ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and regulatory requirements. This is a hands-on role ideal for an engineer with strong organizational skills and a collaborative mindset.
Responsibilities:
Support the planning, design, procurement, and execution phases of the project.
Coordinate with design consultants, equipment vendors, and construction teams to ensure timely delivery of engineering packages.
Review and track engineering drawings, specifications, and technical submittals.
Assist in managing change control, RFIs, and technical queries.
Ensure engineering deliverables meet GMP, safety, and quality standards.
Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and constructability assessments.
Support the commissioning and qualification (CQV) process by coordinating with validation and operations teams.
Maintain accurate project documentation and contribute to progress reporting.
Identify and escalate risks or issues that may impact project delivery.
Background/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related).
3 7 years of experience in engineering roles within pharmaceutical or life sciences capital projects.
Familiarity with API manufacturing processes, utilities, and cleanroom environments.
Understanding of GMP, FDA, and EMA regulatory requirements.
Strong communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency in engineering tools and document management systems.
Experience working on greenfield or brownfield capital projects.
