Description
We are looking for an Engineering Software Engineer to join our team in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this long-term contract role, you will contribute to the development and testing of embedded software applications for aircraft systems. This position offers the opportunity to be involved throughout the software lifecycle, from conceptualization to maintenance, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement creative solutions to address complex technical challenges in system and software integration.
Collaborate with Systems Engineers to develop software solutions tailored to operational and user needs.
Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and maintenance.
Support both new and existing military and commercial programs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in real-time software applications, ensuring optimal system performance.
Utilize programming languages such as Python, Java, and C++ to develop and enhance software functionality.
Apply engineering principles and analytical skills to solve problems and improve software systems.
Work with version control tools like GIT to manage codebase effectively.
Ensure compatibility across UNIX and Linux platforms during software development and deployment.
Contribute to the integration of APIs, such as Maps API, for enhanced application capabilities.
Requirements
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and C++.
Strong understanding of UNIX and Linux operating systems.
Experience with version control systems, particularly GIT.
Solid foundation in engineering principles and mathematics.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in real-time software environments.
Familiarity with regulations and protocols relevant to software development in the aerospace industry.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to design creative software solutions.
Knowledge of APIs, including Maps API, and their integration with software applications.
