Description:
Maintains operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination of infrastructure and cloud responsibilities. Develops and designs core operating system builds. Responsible for coding, virtualization, and automation of systems. Sets up administrator and service account, maintains an active directory of users and system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system-wide software, and allocates mass storage space. Assesses and resolves user access problems related to security controls to minimize business impact and risk exposure. Identifies and evaluates vendor products and establishes vendor monitoring and tracking processes. Performs capacity planning and monitors/tunes systems. Recommends appropriate platforms for purchase, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery. Serves as a point of escalation for major incidents that are unresolved at the helpdesk level. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. May draft general IT communications to end-users including notifications of outages/downtimes.
Background/Need:
The Team is responsible for the technical side of many applications at the Laboratory. Team provides application administration for custom and COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) applications within and outside of ISD, primarily SAP products.
- Migration Support: Assist in the migration from SAP BW on HANA to BW/4HANA, including data model changes, system configuration, and performance optimization.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Migration Support: Assist in the migration from SAP BW on HANA to BW/4HANA, including data model changes, system configuration, and performance optimization.
- Basis Administration for on-prem and cloud SAP products - S/4, SRM, BW, Business Objects, Portal and SAP BTP/Analytics Cloud, including transports, installation, monitoring, and other support activities.
- Red Hat Linux administration as needed to configure and administer SAP NetWeaver
- Configure connections/integration between on-prem, external, and SaaS applications/databases
- Monitor and upgrade SAP products, triage issues, and manage security and users.
- Perform sizing, compliance, performance tuning, configuration of SAP BTP and Cloud Connector.
- Identify and manage dependencies with other systems, databases, SSO, and security.
- Work on server level change requests and deploy content to production.

Must Have:
- Experience in SAP Basis Administration in S/4HANA or BW
- Experience in application security design
- Service pack and patch upgrade experience.
- Working knowledge of the software lifecycle and methodologies.
- Skill in platform/technical requirements collection and analysis to identify needs
- OS (RHEL and Windows) administration as it relates to SAP application administration
- Ability to work with operations team and vendors to resolve infrastructure and integration related issues
- Ability to work independently toward delivery of goals as well as collaborate in team efforts
- Ability to develop and help drive implementation best practice / standards and guidelines.
- Effective communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in SAP BW to BW/4 HANA migration methodology, including system conversion, data migration, and configuration.
Data Preparation:
- Analyzing existing data models, data sources, and InfoProviders in the legacy SAP BW 7.x system.
- Identifying transformations, data flows, and DTPs (Data Transfer Processes) that need adjustments for BW/4 HANA.
Mapping and Modeling:
- Redesigning data models for BW/4 HANA, leveraging HANA-optimized objects such as Advanced DataStore Objects (aDSOs), CompositeProviders, and Open ODS Views.
- Using the BW/4 HANA Migration Cockpit to convert legacy objects like InfoCubes and DSOs to aDSOs and Advanced MultiProvider objects.
Data Migration Tools:
- Utilizing SAP Rapid Data Migration (RDM), SAP Landscape Transformation (SLT), or SAP Data Services to ensure efficient data replication and migration from the source SAP BW system to BW/4
- HANA.
- Ensuring that transformations (like DTPs, Transfer Rules, Update Rules) are adjusted for BW/4 HANA.
Data Validation:
- Conducting data reconciliation and validation after the migration to ensure the integrity of migrated data.
- Addressing any inconsistencies or data quality issues post-migration.
Nice to have:
- Experience in sizing, installation, planning and configuration of SAP Analytics Cloud or similar online analytics system
- Manage SAP S/4 HANA system landscape on cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud Platform
- Experience working with SAP Cloud Identity (IAS and IPS)
- Direct experience in an implementation and operational support role highly desirable
- Working knowledge of relational databases and client server concepts
- Experience in ServiceNow for incident, service request and change management
Clearance:
- Willing to review candidates who can obtain an interim secret clearance.
Work from home:
- This position is REMOTE. The candidate can work remotely from any location. They may be asked to take up to 4 trips per calendar year to Lexington if the program/project requires it.
Work Schedule:
- Candidate should be able to support EST hours. There may also be off hour worker required as the project progresses.
Interview process:
- 1st round interview will be a Zoom meeting with the hiring manager.
- 2nd round will be a Zoom meeting with additional team members.
