Job Title: Workday Payroll Implementation Consultant
Location: Houston, TX
Contract Type: Long-term

Summary:
Join as a Workday Payroll Implementation Consultant responsible for fully managing the payroll module lifecycle from requirements gathering, configuration, through to testing, deployment, and post-go-live support. Work closely with Payroll Operations, HR, and IT teams to ensure robust and compliant payroll and time management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support full lifecycle payroll implementations including Time Evolution and Payroll configuration
  • Define and execute configuration of payroll components: pay groups, earnings/deductions, periods, tax, costing, validations
  • Manage tight integration points with Time & Absence (Time Evolution)
  • Drive testing phases: parallel testing, defect resolution, traceability, and payroll sign-offs
  • Troubleshoot complex calculation and configuration defects for rapid resolution
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement efficiency gains
  • Maintain detailed documentation, including acceptance criteria, process flows, and SOX controls
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies (tools: Jira, Confluence)
  • Execute UAT, regression testing, release coordination, and hypercare support

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • 3-6 years Workday consulting experience with full Payroll implementation exposure
  • Solid knowledge of payroll processes and compliance requirements
  • Experience with SAP, SuccessFactors, or Oracle payroll systems is beneficial
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a hybrid work setting (3 days onsite in Houston)

Preferred Qualities:

  • Workday certifications for Payroll, Time Tracking, or related modules
  • Experience with Workday Reports, EIB, Workday Studio, and security configurations
  • Agile certifications/trainings
  • Exposure to broader HRIS and ERP payroll ecosystems
