Job Title: Network Engineer

Location: Memphis, TN- Onsite

Duration: 6 months

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer with expertise in high-performance computing, networking, and cluster administration to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing network infrastructure for HPC systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and maintain high-performance network infrastructure for HPC systems, including switches, routers, firewalls, and interconnect technologies (e.g., InfiniBand, Ethernet).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable and efficient HPC clusters, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure and applications.
  • Perform network capacity planning and optimization to support growing computational workloads and user requirements.
  • Implement and manage network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, malware, and other security threats.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues, including latency, bandwidth, and packet loss, to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to users and administrators in configuring and troubleshooting network-related issues.
  • Document network configurations, procedures, and best practices, and provide training and knowledge transfer to team members and end-users.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in HPC, networking, and cluster administration, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on high-performance computing, networking, and cluster administration.
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
  • Experience with HPC cluster architectures, parallel file systems (e.g., Lustre, GPFS), and job scheduling systems (e.g., Slurm, PBS).
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices and services, including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze complex network issues and performance bottlenecks.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are a plus.
