About the RoleWe're seeking a seasoned
Network Engineer to join a small but dynamic infrastructure and operations team. This role is ideal for someone with deep networking expertise, a passion for modernizing systems, and a collaborative mindset. You'll play a key role in designing and implementing strategic network projects, mentoring junior team members, and supporting both legacy and cloud-based infrastructure.
Employment Type: 6-month Contract-to-Hire
On-Call: Every other month (queue monitoring and ticket response)
Key Responsibilities- Lead modernization efforts for data centers and colocation facilities.
- Design and implement micro-segmentation strategies for enhanced security.
- Replace aging core network infrastructure and secure SaaS gateways.
- Manage service providers for patching, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Support Microsoft 365 tenant and Teams telephony integration.
- Collaborate on network architecture and operational troubleshooting.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices across the team.
Technology Stack- Networking: Cisco Route/Switch, Meraki Wireless, Fortinet/FortiGate (next-gen firewalls), FortiManager.
- Cloud & Collaboration: Microsoft Teams, M365.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience building and connecting SaaS applications.
- Knowledge of cloud networking and architecture.
- Experience in telecom systems including VoIP, SIP gateways, and CCaaS solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in complex network environments.
Work Environment- Hybrid: 2-3 days per week onsite preferred.
- Remote: Available for candidates within 40-50 miles of target locations.
- Must have a distraction-free home office setup for remote work.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
