This Sr. Systems Operations Analyst role focuses on maintaining and supporting the production workflow. Responsibilities include ensuring the efficient handling of production job scheduling changes, managing problems and issues, while adhering to established standards and procedures. The successful candidate will work with users, vendors, and Systems staff on BAU tasks as well as important projects and assignments, helping to represent the department in project or issue-related aspects.

Responsibilities

Maintenance
  • Help manage start and end of shift turnover, incident logs, and related databases.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation, procedures, and standards.
  • Support and maintain on-time delivery of user and client deliverables.
  • Maintain change processes for operational review and approval.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures and documentation.
  • Review production turnover documentation to ensure requirements and schedules are met.
  • Assist in providing info and deliverables for IT Audits
  • Help manage and test the team's tools during annual BCP/Disaster Recovery Testing and provide test results

System and Software Support
  • Support automation processes and software; recommend automation tools for notifications and operational processes.
  • Help Support TLMS software and all tape management issues.
  • Understand and Support the use of Splunk.

Technical
  • Provide 24x7 technical support.
  • Help perform monitoring responsibilities for operational alerts.
  • Meet all service level objectives associated with production alerts and failures.
  • Perform scheduling for both mainframe and distributed platforms.
  • Conduct 1st and 2nd level problem determination, resolution, and documentation.
  • Evaluate and test software to support system upgrades or processing adjustments.
  • Interact with Systems and user groups during the implementation of new and revised applications and/or software products across all platforms.
  • Interface with all hardware, software, and service vendors.

Planning/Organization
  • Review and evaluate all operational issues and events to develop more efficient and effective methods for notification, avoidance, and reoccurrence.
  • Develop historical statistical reports for user and operational research.
  • Identify and document incidents and problems (all platforms) presented to the team.
  • Help ensure employees have the necessary tools to perform their work effectively.
  • Help document team processes and procedures

Candidate Qualifications
  • 8+ years of data processing experience or equivalent.
  • Effective use of standard desktop tools, including Microsoft Office, Outlook and Teams.
  • Working knowledge of a distributed batch scheduler such as AutoSys, but RunMyJobs would be preferable,
  • Working knowledge of a mainframe batch job scheduler such as IBM Workload Scheduler (iZws), or CA-7 software.
  • Familiarity with AutoOps (mainframe), IBM Content Manager and ServiceNow are a plus
  • Working knowledge of mainframe MVS JCL and NDM.
  • Fast learner with very good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent client service and interpersonal skills.

Education and Qualifications
  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or Business degree with related work experience. Advanced MS degree preferred
  • 5-7+ years of Financial Services industry experience (Preferably Application Support)
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Self-starter/motivated
  • Proven ability to operate independently
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience writing technical specifications, preferably at a financial services company (not mandatory but a plus)
  • ITIL Foundation Certification (not mandatory but a plus)
  • Experience in using Industry tools like ServiceNow for tracking Incidents and Problems (not mandatory but a plus)

Salary Range

$90,000 - $130,000

BBH's compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
