Join Microsoft Azure Edge + Platform (E+P) to help drive the future of edge computing. You will be part of a globally distributed team of engineers, architects, program managers, product managers, researchers, and designers who are responsible for delivering Microsoft's edge vision. Our team creates the most reliable and trustworthy OS and platform services, empowering Microsoft and our customers to achieve more. We unlock new opportunities at the edge through a scalable ecosystem that drives widespread adoption of Microsoft cloud services.
As a Software Engineer, you will learn about and contribute to Azure Stack Hub Storage services and how those services are deployed, used, and supported on various edge platforms. You will collaborate with colleagues across the globe to deliver reliable and secure features that drive impact for the organization and our customers. You will also work with a team looking to incorporate these services into Kubernetes-based storage solutions. This opportunity will allow you to accelerate your career growth, deepen your systems thinking, and develop the skills necessary to create resilient systems. This role has flexibility to partner with your manager to define the way you'd like to work from our Pittsburgh office, with work-from-home opportunities for part of the week.

We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join the team.
Responsibilities:
- Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features.
- Contributes to the identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight.
- Creates and implements code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable.
- Contributes to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provides estimation.
- Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and gains approval to restore system/product/service for simple problems.
- Remains current in skills by investing time and effort into staying abreast of current developments that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ months experience with AI coding tools like GitHub Copilot.
