We're seeking an Application Developer/Analyst to support IT services for a municipal government agency. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing business applications, developing reports and interfaces, and supporting end users across various departments. - Maintain and upgrade existing applications, including patching and performance tuning.
- Develop new applications, reports, and system interfaces to support departmental initiatives.
- Gather and document business requirements and technical specifications.
- Create reports using tools like Power BI, Cognos, or Crystal Reports.
- Support production environments, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes.
- Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Participate in application testing, deployment, and change management processes.
- Provide off-hours support as needed for critical business applications.
- 1+ year of experience in application development using C#, .NET, Java, or similar object-oriented languages (internship or academic experience accepted).
- Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., MS SQL Server, Oracle).
- Exposure to business intelligence tools such as Power BI or similar.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to multitask and support a 24x7 operational environment.
- Experience with application migration and interface development.
- Familiarity with municipal or public sector IT environments.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
