About the Role:

We're seeking an Application Developer/Analyst to support IT services for a municipal government agency. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing business applications, developing reports and interfaces, and supporting end users across various departments. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow into a long-term position with the potential to convert to full-time.
Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and upgrade existing applications, including patching and performance tuning.
• Develop new applications, reports, and system interfaces to support departmental initiatives.
• Gather and document business requirements and technical specifications.
• Create reports using tools like Power BI, Cognos, or Crystal Reports.
• Support production environments, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes.
• Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely issue resolution.
• Participate in application testing, deployment, and change management processes.
• Provide off-hours support as needed for critical business applications.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 1+ year of experience in application development using C#, .NET, Java, or similar object-oriented languages (internship or academic experience accepted).
• Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., MS SQL Server, Oracle).
• Exposure to business intelligence tools such as Power BI or similar.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Ability to multitask and support a 24x7 operational environment.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with application migration and interface development.
• Familiarity with municipal or public sector IT environments.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
