Job Title: Director Agile Program Management

Target Start Date: As soon as possible

Duration: 6-month contract to start (extensions likely or conversion possible)

Location: Strong preference to candidates local to Detroit

Onsite: 2-3 days onsite at the client site in Detroit, bi-weekly

Travel: If not local to Detroit, bi-weekly travel to the client site for 2-3 days that week

Interview Process: 2-3 internal interviews, no client round

Top 3 Skills/Experience Needed:

• Vast Program Management background
• Commerce expertise, particularly Shopify
• Auto/Retail background

Project/Industry Experience:

• Automotive is preferred, Retail would be secondary

Director Agile Program Management
As a Director Agile Program Management - Agile Program Lead, you will be responsible for leading Agile program delivery and transformation initiatives across Commerce Platform programs. You will work closely with engineering, product, and business teams to implement scaled Agile frameworks, drive program execution, and enable high-performing teams to deliver value at scale.
Your Impact

• Lead Agile program execution across enterprise-scale Commerce Platform initiatives.
• Implement and optimize SAFe, LeSS, or Scrum@Scale frameworks for Agile delivery.
• Develop Agile transformation strategies and roadmaps to improve agility across teams.
• Oversee Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and ensure alignment between business objectives and delivery.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration between product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
• Establish Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) practices to optimize investment prioritization.
• Facilitate PI Planning, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt sessions, and governance reviews.
• Implement metrics and KPIs to measure Agile maturity, velocity, and business outcomes.
• Lead organizational change initiatives to embed Agile culture and mindset at scale.
• Mentor and coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Agile teams to enhance delivery effectiveness.

Skills & Experience

• 12+ years of experience in Agile program management, Agile coaching, or enterprise Agile transformation.
• Strong expertise in SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, LeSS, or Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD).
• Experience managing large-scale Agile programs in Commerce Platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud, SAP Commerce, Adobe Commerce, or Shopify Plus.
• Hands-on experience with Agile Release Trains (ARTs), Program Increment (PI) planning, and Agile governance.
• Proficiency in Agile tools such as Jira Align, Rally, Confluence, Miro, or VersionOne.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work with C-level executives.
• Deep understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, cloud-native architectures, and Agile software development practices.
• Excellent facilitation, leadership, and communication skills to drive Agile adoption at scale.

Set Yourself Apart With

• SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), PMI-ACP, or Certified Agile Coach (ICP-ACC).
• Experience in Agile Value Stream Mapping and Lean Portfolio Management.
• Deep knowledge of Commerce Platform modernization, headless commerce, and composable commerce architectures.
• Strong ability to drive Agile transformations in global, distributed teams.
• Thought leadership in Agile ways of working, business agility, and digital transformation.
