Overview
Strategic Weapons Systems (SWS) Integration, Department 445, is seeking highly motivated engineers to provide comprehensive technical oversight of integration activities. This position is located in New London, CT, with the primary responsibility of pro-actively supporting SWS Special Projects both from the Home Office as well as at forward sites. The Integration team also provides support to the waterfront to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous completion of construction activities in a manner that results in delivery of ships consistent with the design intent. Engineers will interface with multiple Strategic Programs (SP) branches and their contractors, Electric Boat Design and Engineering, Ship's Management, Planning, Operations, Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP), Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) PMS397 and NAVSEA PMS450 to act as the primary engineering interface for the Special Projects.

Responsibilities will include the following:
- Support Special Project teams for Multiple All-Up-Round Canister (MAC) refurbishment, Virginia Payload Test Facility Modification (VPTF-M), and various other Special Projects
- Evaluate emergent shipyard issues that arise during construction or test and rapidly develop technically acceptable resolutions
- Interpret SWS GFE design, drawing, installation and specification requirements
- Support final assembly, test, certification, and delivery activities for Special Projects
- Provide direction regarding the application of Coordination Drawings to resolve COLUMBIA Class construction issues
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering evaluations
- Facilitate discipline-specific SWS knowledge transfer to the construction support engineering team
- Coordinate engagement of design and engineering SMEs
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 0-5 years of post-graduate experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance or higher
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Team Center
- Prior US Navy experience
