Job Posting: Test Engineer II - Advanced Medical Device Testing
Location: San Diego, CA

Overview:
Join a dynamic and innovative team at the forefront of medical device development. We're seeking a Test Engineer II to lead complex testing efforts that support the development of life-changing technologies. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge products in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your contributions directly impact patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead execution of test activities across feasibility, development, characterization, and verification phases.
  • Develop and validate robust, scalable test methods aligned with product and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize test setups using advanced test equipment and data analysis.
  • Design and validate custom fixtures and test systems using CAD tools (SolidWorks or OnShape).
  • Author and maintain technical documentation including protocols, reports, and equipment instructions.
  • Drive Test Method Validation (TMV) and Measurement System Analysis (MSA) using statistical tools (Gauge R&R, t-tests, ANOVA).
  • Implement automation solutions using Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW to streamline testing and analysis.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to align testing strategies.
  • Support lab operations including equipment maintenance, documentation, and audit readiness.
  • Manage equipment lifecycle activities using Maximo or similar systems.
  • Adapt to shifting priorities and flexible work hours as needed.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 2-5 years of experience in test engineering or related fields.
  • Advanced CAD skills (SolidWorks or OnShape) for fixture and equipment design.
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, MATLAB, C, VBA) for automation and data analysis.
  • Strong foundation in statistical analysis and DOE techniques.
  • Excellent technical writing skills for documentation and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with electromechanical test equipment and measurement systems.
  • Familiarity with equipment management systems like Maximo.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Self-starter with a proactive mindset and ability to deliver results efficiently.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
