Key Qualifications

At least 3+ years of hands-on experience designing for a production environment. High volume, consumer electronics or sensing experience is a plus.Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including properties of materials, solid mechanics, beam statics, Newtonian physics, and thermodynamics.Experience in data and statistical analysis (Monte Carlo, DOE, response surface modeling)3D CAD experience is required.Understanding of FEA methods and requirementsProficient in Matlab or Python is a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skills and people skills; ability to interact and collaborate with management, team members and external vendors to achieve project goals, and give positively to the engineering community

Description

You will own the mechanical design analysis for critical loading conditions to ensure performance requirements can be met over all design and process variations. You will work with a hardworking multifunctional team to generate design concepts and quantify performance impacts through complex analytical models for various sensing technologies within Apple's portfolio of products.Identify and quantify design tradeoffs and risks to choose viable paths forward.Apply robust mechanical analysis, experimental design and statistical analysis to reduce risk early in the product development cycle.Collaborate with multi-functional team and analysts to fully define design space, perform analysis and complete correlation and validation activities.

Education & Experience

BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700.00 and $300,200.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
