Trident Consulting is seeking a "Procurement Specialist" for one of our client in Rosemead, CA. A global leader in business and technology services.

Role: Procurement Specialist

Type: Contract

Location: Rosemead, CA

Shift: M-F, 8-5

Duration: 18+ Months

Rate: $95/hr $115/hr

Description:

Core Responsibilities

  • Technical Purchasing: Negotiate terms, discounts, and long-term contracts for technical equipment, custom engineered products, systems, software, or components.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Conduct supplier risk assessments, performance reviews, and improvement plans.
  • Contract & Cost Management: Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders, Review contracts for compliance and negotiate issue resolutions, Apply financial analysis, costing, and supply chain principles.
  • Process Improvement: Implement cost reduction initiatives, root cause analysis, and procurement optimization strategies.
  • Category Management: Develop and manage category strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Project Leadership: May lead small-to-mid projects, establish objectives, timelines, deliverables, and budgets.

Required Skills / Attributes

  • Experience: 7+ years in procurement, supply chain, or contract management.
  • Specialized Focus: Procurement & RFX experience in private telecommunications systems especially in: Wireless/cellular networks (internal operational systems, not public carriers).Private telecommunications networks (companies owning internal infrastructure vs. leased services).

Education:

  • Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field, OR
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Technical Expertise:

  • Contract negotiation, supplier sourcing, pricing, and cost modeling.
  • Understanding of financial, logistical, commercial, risk, and cost analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of supply chain methodology and activity-based costing.

  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on procurement execution skills.
  • Experience balancing corporate procurement policy with project-specific needs.

Exclusions / Non-Priority Areas

  • Public wireless service procurement (e.g., Verizon, AT&T).
  • Roles focused solely on IT hardware/software buying without telecom infrastructure understanding.
