THIS IS A HYBRID ONSITE ROLE BASED IN COSTA MESA, CA. THE POSITION REQUIRES A MINIMUM OF THREE DAYS ONSITE PER WEEK, WITH SPECIFIC DAYS DETERMINED BY TEAM MEETINGS. SOME WEEKS MAY REQUIRE ADDITIONAL ONSITE PRESENCE DEPENDING ON MEETING SCHEDULES.

KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Principal Insurance Product Manager/Owner: P&C personal lines + Guidewire or comparable cloud-based platform
The Principal Insurance Product Manager is responsible for ensuring the execution of the product vision for Insurance and MRM (marketing research management) technology - defining and driving the member and employee-facing system strategy. He/she/they will develop and implement strategic plans for the development, improvement, and distribution of product line(s), systems, and technology for all Insurance markets.
This position partners with all cross-product teams, including eBiz, IS, and MRM, to ensure all insurance applications are maintained and updated. This position leads the overall prioritization process, defining & setting business & user requirements, and analyzing business impact, such as sales growth, profitability, and service quality, to business stakeholders.
The Principal Insurance Product Manager monitors profitability, productivity, and growth targets of assigned product lines and makes recommendations/corrections to senior management to improve attainment of goals and objectives. This position maintains a clear vision of priorities and deliverables and identifies gaps, risks, and issues as well as options and solutions to mitigate risks.
Job Duties
  • Ensures execution of the product vision by defining and driving the product strategy.
  • Direct the development, planning, and implementation of product and process development for new products.
  • Responsible for developing innovative and creative solutions that meet existing enterprise needs, increasing the value of current products, and/or introducing new product/service opportunities.
  • Utilizes trends, developments in the marketplace, and customer research to shape product and service offerings.
  • Responsible for managing timelines and internal and external resources to launch products.
  • Provide strategic directions for all assigned product lines.
  • Research the market for business opportunities and ensure integration of the product line with the MRM strategy.
  • Directly responsible for managing product expense budget and providing direction and oversight for product advertising budget.
  • Work with multiple areas of the organization (including the product distribution channels, sales, operations, finance, etc.) to ensure the development, execution, and establishment of goals and the success of all product line initiatives. Monitor, evaluate, and communicate to senior managers the progress against targeted goals and make corrections to attain assigned objectives.
  • Develop a strong team by focusing on recruiting, training, and ongoing coaching. Review and initiate appropriate salary increases, promotions, terminations, and other changes in employee status.
  • Facilitate open communication between the company and outside vendors/business partners on issues such as market research, development, complaints, advertising compliance, and service quality.
  • Position requires a high degree of independent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Regularly makes decisions involving the direction of major initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors' Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • P&C personal line insurance experience required (on the tech/software side)
  • Guidewire Systems and personal lines insurance knowledge strongly preferred; but will accept other cloud-based software platforms such as Duck Creek
  • 10+ years of Product management, product development, product owner, or related experience for insurance or digital products required
  • Visionary with superior strategic, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to both internal and external stakeholders, both oral and written, including authorship of product-related documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, and senior executives.
  • Advanced ability to think strategically and transform strategy into actionable plans.
  • Clear understanding of UI/UX design and the basic principles of usability.
  • Advanced ability in defining and leading the implementation of new processes.
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data.
  • Advanced organization, planning, and problem resolution skills required.
Compensation depends on experience but is typically $ 178,000-$228,900 plus bonus. To afford room for growth, the target top end would be closer to $183K plus bonus. However, we are willing to send qualified candidates over that number.
