Job Title: Head of Manufacturing Operations
Location: Full-time onsite, Denver/Boulder, Colorado
Travel: Up to 25% international
Term : Full Time
Client is accelerating the clean energy transition by helping residential and small commercial users cut energy costs and reduce carbon footprints.
Role Summary:
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Manufacturing Operations to lead and scale our end-to-end hardware operations. This leader will oversee sourcing, logistics, contract manufacturing, and operational execution across global supply chains. This is a highly visible role with significant ownership, reporting directly to the C-Executives, and will be instrumental in transitioning the client from an ODM model to an in-house design and Contract Manufacturing (CM) model.
This person must thrive in a hands-on leadership environment and have experience launching consumer hardware products into high-volume production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
Lead all manufacturing functions, including sourcing, contract manufacturing, logistics, NPI execution, quality control, and supply chain management. - Strategy & Transformation:
Drive the strategic shift from an ODM model to a Contract Manufacturing model with optimized vendor selection and cost structures. - Team Management:
Oversee a growing operations team, including program managers, buyers, and manufacturing engineers. - Partnership Management:
Manage and build strong partnerships with overseas suppliers and contract manufacturers (including in Asia (China, Taiwan and potentially India). - Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with engineering, product, quality, and executive teams to ensure manufacturing readiness, scalability, and cost targets. - Program Oversight:
Lead and approve production schedules, process validation, capacity planning, and ramp-up operations for new and existing product lines. - Risk Management:
Identify manufacturing and supply risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of manufacturing operations experience in consumer electronics or hardware products.
- Proven track record of transitioning products from NPI to high-volume mass production.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing best practices, phase-gate processes (EVT/DVT/PVT), and global supply chains.
- Experience working with offshore manufacturing partners (especially in Asia).
- Strong leadership skills, executive presence, and the ability to work onsite in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
- Familiar with tools such as Arena PLM, JIRA, SmartSheets, and ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience building and scaling manufacturing organizations or working in growth-stage companies is highly preferred.
