Position : GenAI Architect/ Director (AWS AI services)

Location: San Diego, CA / Remote

Job Type: Contract



Required Skills :

Job Description

  • 10+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or AI fields
  • 5+ years in leadership roles related to AI governance, strategy, or innovation
  • Proven track record of establishing AI governance frameworks and standards
  • Experience collaborating with and influencing distributed AI teams
  • Strong technical background in modern AI/ML technologies and methodologies
  • Experience with large language models (LLMs) and generative AI applications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field

Technical Expertise Requirements

  • Deep expertise in modern AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX) and their enterprise applications
  • Hands-on experience with large language models (e.g., GPT, Claude, Llama) and prompt engineering
  • Proficiency in implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures
  • Experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus) and embeddings models
  • Knowledge of MLOps practices and tools for model governance, monitoring, and lifecycle management
  • Expertise in evaluating and governing foundation models for specific business domains
  • Experience implementing AI governance tools and frameworks for responsible AI
  • Understanding of AI infrastructure requirements, including GPU/TPU optimization
  • Experience with AWS AI services (Bedrock, SageMaker, etc.) or other cloud AI platforms
  • Knowledge of AI evaluation metrics and techniques for measuring model performance
  • Experience with multimodal AI systems (text, image, audio) and their applications
  • Proficiency in Python and related data science libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, etc.)
  • Understanding of data engineering principles for AI workloads
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) for AI deployments

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, or related industries
  • Knowledge of AWS AI/ML services and infrastructure
  • Background in building AI Centers of Excellence or similar functions
  • Experience with responsible AI frameworks and ethical considerations
  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in AI, Machine Learning, or related field
  • Experience aligning multiple AI teams across business units to a common strategy
  • Track record of successful AI governance implementation in enterprise
