Performance Testing Engineer
Job Summary:
A Quality Engineer (TCOE) plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software and systems through effective testing processes, methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives within the QE framework. They are responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining quality standards, collaborating with various teams, and driving a culture of quality throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:

• Test Strategy & Planning:
1. Contribute to the development and implementation of test strategies, test plans, and test cases aligned with project requirements and TCOE standards.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders (developers, product owners, business analysts) to understand requirements and develop effective testing approaches.
• Test Execution & Analysis:
1. Execute manual and automated tests (functional, regression, performance, etc.) to identify software defects and ensure adherence to quality standards.
2. Analyze test results, identify root causes of defects, and provide detailed feedback to development teams.
3. Document and track defects using appropriate issue-tracking tools and ensure timely resolution.
• Quality Assurance & Process Improvement:
1. Promote and adhere to established QE methodologies, standards, and best practices for software testing.
2. Identify opportunities for improving testing processes, tools, and automation frameworks.
3. Participate in quality audits and reviews to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations.
• Collaboration & Communication:
1. Work closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless integration of quality practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
2. Communicate effectively with team members, project managers, and stakeholders to provide updates on testing progress and escalate critical issues.
• TCOE Support & Knowledge Sharing:
1. Contribute to the development and maintenance of QE knowledge repositories, guidelines, and best practices.
2. Mentor and train junior team members on quality engineering principles and QE processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8 plus years experience in software quality assurance, including manual and automated testing.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
• Familiarity with programming languages and scripting for test automation (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, Selenium, etc.).
• Experience with issue-tracking and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
• Experience with test management tools (e.g., qTest, ALM).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices is a plus.

Key Requirements:

1. Experience:
• Specific experience in a Testing Center of Excellence (TCOE).
• No lead experience required, but the candidate must be able to coach teams and guide them back on track.
• Ability to join a struggling team, understand the entire QE process, and implement corrections.
2. Technical Skills:
• Highly technical with a strong coding background, specifically in Java.
• Expertise in test automation tools: Selenium, Cucumber, and QTest.
• Background as a Java Developer with Testing Architecture experience is ideal.
3. Quality Process Expertise:
• Deep knowledge of quality processes, best practices, and standards.
• Ability to develop and implement proper test plans and strategies.
• Proficiency in setting up and managing Jira boards to ensure process adherence.
4. Responsibilities:
• Create and enforce proper QE processes, including test planning, strategy, and execution.
• Coach teams to improve their testing practices and align with TCOE standards.
• Ensure project teams follow established processes for consistent quality delivery.
