As a Lead Security Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity & Technology Controls, you are an integral part of team that works to deliver software solutions that satisfy pre-defined functional and user requirements with the added dimension of preventing misuse, circumvention, and malicious behavior. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions with tamper-proof, audit defensible methods across multiple technical areas within various business functions.

Job responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test and deploy Java/python applications to Dev, Test and Prod environments
  • Perform security validation, performance tuning and apply software engineering best practices. Support/maintain applications post-production deployment (Devops)
  • Automate application and infrastructure deployment pipelines in both on-prem and public cloud environments
  • Write unit/integration test cases, perform functional/security/performance testing for the application modules. Create Software documentation and operational run books
  • Identify hidden problems and patterns and use these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Help to produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by engineering.
  • Build and deploy container-based applications (Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Work with product owners to gather requirements, understand, design scalable and secure applications. Work in an agile environment and deliver features in 2 week sprint cycles
  • Lead delivery of applications, continuity-related awareness, training, educational activities, and exercises
  • Work in a collaborative and independent manner

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on security engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Application development experience for enterprise environments with strong analytical and problem solving skill
  • 8+ years of applied experience working in Java: Spring, Spring boot frameworks etc.,
  • 3+ years of applied experience developing and deploying applications in AWS - EC2, IAM, S3, Lambda, EKS, API gateway etc.,
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, distributed systems, resiliency, and security
  • Hands on experience working on relational/NoSql databases, SQL and ORM technologies(JPA, hibernate etc.,)
  • Excellent knowledge of Object-Oriented concepts, analysis and design using common design patterns

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Any associate level or above AWS certification
  • Any kubernetes certification
  • Experience effectively communicating with senior business leaders
