Evolver Federal is looking for a System Engineer to join our team supporting our federal client located onsite in Bethesda, MD.
This position requires a hybrid work environment with onsite work 3-5 days per week in Bethesda, MD depending on the requirements of the program
Responsibilities:
Supervise, coordinate and/or perform additions and changes to network hardware and operating systems, and attached devices, including investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing of new network hardware and software.
Provide direct support in the day-to-day operations on network hardware and operating systems including the evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
Troubleshoot the physical level of the network, working with network measurement hardware and software, as well as physical checking and testing of hardware devices at the logical level working with communication protocols.
Participate in planning design, technical review and implementation for new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice and data communication networks.
Maintain network infrastructure standards including network communication protocols such as TCP/IP. Provide technical consultation, training and support to IT staff as designated by the government. Diagnose and resolve complex communication problems.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or seven (7) years of experience in Systems Engineering
- 5 years of experience providing direct support in the day-to-day operations on network hardware and operating systems including the evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
- 5 years of experience troubleshooting the physical level of the network, working with network measurement hardware and software, as well as physical checking and testing of hardware devices at the logical level and working with communication protocols
- 5 years of experience in the management and control of funds and resources using complex reporting mechanisms, demonstrated capability in managing multi-task contracts and / or subcontracts of diverse types and complexity.
- 5 years of experience in planning design, technical review and implementation for new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice and data communication networks.
- 5 years of experience maintaining network infrastructure standards including network communication protocols such as TCP/IP.
- 5 years of experience providing technical consultation, training and support to IT staff
- with the ability to obtain a Level 5 (NACIC) security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master of Science (MS) in Information Technology
- The following certifications and skillset are preferred:
- Microsoft MSCE, Windows Server OS, IIS, PowerShell, System Center Operation and Configuration Management,
- Microsoft Azure Administration
- Microsoft Azure DevOps
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Professional
- VMware Data Center Virtualization (DCV) - Design or Deploy
- Nutanix Platform Expert (NPX)
- IBM BigFix Lifecycle Administration
- Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management (ITIL) v3 or higher
- CompTIA Security+ Certified Professional
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Public Trust Tier2 security clearance- Moderate risk (formerly MBI Level 5B)
